Mark Zuckerberg calls for universal basic income at Harvard speech

The concept of a guaranteed income has been around for a while. The Swiss  considered it. The Finns tried it in small measure. The Communists abandoned it. It never worked, but apparently there are people who want to see it working a capitalist context. What evidence is there that it will work this time?

Soderbergh seems to believe that people have a guaranteed income, they would be willing to take risks to try new business ideas. Some may do so. Some may simply game the system. And others might simply continue to seek after losing ventures. After all, there would be little risk in failure.

Now that we are establishing healthcare as a universal right, as wrong is that may be, here are now ideas of how to establish other lights , such as guaranteed income.

Katy Perry SEAL Smackdown: A turning point on celebrity blather?

Katy Perry said some stupid things this week about how loving everyone will stop Islamic terrorists in their tracks. This Navy Seal has a great comeback for that.

But beyond that it makes you wonder Why such things are even said in the first place. After all, we know that the Navy SEALs comment is more true than Katy Perry’s comment.

I believe it is because, in some questions, there is great peer pressure to conform. It seems to be very prominent in Hollywood. The fanbase seems to be extremely liberal, so the actors and actresses want to appease their fans. They know that if they speak differently on this topic , they will be ostracized. That doesn’t make it right, but it does make me wonder if they believe the kinds of things that they say to the public.

Tomi Lahren Tells Playboy She’s Both Anti-Abortion And Pro-Choice

These days, many people are conflicted about abortion because pro-lifers have done a good job of underlining the fact that it’s a human life. And so people who are in favor of abortion as a birth control method struggle with the whole topic of abortion. Many times, I have heard this same mantra, that, while I would not have an abortion, I wouldn’t rule it out for someone else. This is nothing more than an illogical attempt to to ignore the fact that human life is involved. If having an abortion has no more moral significance then going to the bathroom, then there’s nothing to worry about. But if a human life is on the line, it has grave moral consequences.

The X news anchor on the blaze Tommy Lauren gives an interview here where she talks about her views on abortion. She was fired for having views that were in favor of abortion. Notice the muddled thinking. This often happens to many people in their 20s who have not yet formed a full ethical and moral view of the world. Notice how her arguments go all over the place. Also, notice how she never actually deals with the fact that there is a human life involved.

The pro-life movement has had to deal with this mentality for a long time. Many times, people want to take a middle position between being pro-life and pro-abortion. But there is no middle position.

I especially like the fact that she says she wants to make abortion safe for both the mother and baby. Abortion is never safe for the baby.

Clemson ‘Diversity’ Training: Time Is Culturally Relative, Expecting Promptness Is Racist

http://www.cnsnews.com/blog/craig-bannister/clemson-diversity-training-time-culturally-relative-expecting-promptness-racist

And cultural news today, it is been determined that time itself is a racist concept. Because of this revelation, hundreds of thousands of taxpayers are now declaring that the IRS’s deadline for sending in taxes is racist. The IRS, not wanting to run afoul of political correctness, immediately said that is perfectly fine for people to send in their taxes “whenever they feel like it.”

The Federal election commission has also issued a statement saying that the November election deadline was “just a joke “. ” If you haven’t voted yet, please feel free to do so “.

Starbucks stores across the fruited plain are also scrambling to respond. Their chief diversity officer yesterday announced that store hours being currently posted on storefronts will be changed. Starting time is now “whatever “, and closing time is “something something”. Employees who forget what day it is and forget to show up for work will no longer be penalized.

Women Kicked Out of Women’s Shelter to Make Room for a ‘Transgender’ Man

I can just imagine a weight loss program for the perpetually offended. “Visualize yourself skinnier. Don’t pay attention to that sexist scale. Fight back against oppression and have another cookie.”

University of Washington Writing Guru Declares American Grammar ‘Racist,’ Wants New Rules |Heat Street

I think their competitions on university campuses or professors look for new things to be called racist. This is certainly one of them.

However, I do think the term “grammar Nazi” is interesting one. It encompasses both racism and anti-Semitism.

Many of us have been grammatically challenged. I don’t count myself among those. However, I know that they would love for grammar to be overlooked or ignored. It’s a constant pain for them in writing assignments.

Clear written communication is terribly important. And grammar is a part of that. Badly written military orders send troops to the wrong place and lose battles. Badly written software requirements end up with malfunctioning apps. Badly written legislation ends up defeating the purpose of the legislation.

And we know the grammar saves lives. For instance, the sentences “Let’s eat, Grandma” and “Let’s eat Grandma” can result in two very different endings. For the second grandmothers everywhere, we need grammar Nazis.
